Thanksgiving Appetite Seminar Ride re-routed... No more Repack.

Updated 11/26:

The Appetite Seminar was re-routed this year to address environmental concerns about sections of the trail crossing over streams used seasonally by endangered steelhead trout.

We opted to forego the traditional pavement climb up Bolinas-Fairfax Road in favor of dirt, going up through Deer Park Fire Road. The rain made the dirt sticky, like pancake batter as one friend described it.

There was a good presence of people from Marin Municipal Water District, Open Space and other volunteers to ensure that the cyclists were aware of the new router. At the time we passed the rangers, they said it looked like there would be about 650 riders this year.

I was too muddy to take any pictures during the ride (reminiscent of this ride), but you can see the end result above. Post some pics if you made it out this year. Happy Thanksgiving!
